In this episode of Black Men in White Coats, we spend a day with Dr. Kevin Thomas, a practicing electrophysiologist at Duke University Medical Center. He is a leader in his field with a special research emphasis in underserved care.

Episode 5 – Dr. Owusu-Akyaw, Duke University

In this episode of Black Men in White Coats, we meet one of Duke’s finest, Dr. Kwadwo Owusu-Akyaw. He is an excellent orthopedic resident and leader in diversity. Black Men in White Coats is intended to inspire young individuals, with an emphasis on black males, to pursue careers in the field of medicine.

Episode 4 – Dr. Sean McLean, UNC

In this episode, we spend time with the first black board-certified pediatric surgeon in the state of North Carolina, Dr. Sean McLean. Beyond being an outstanding surgeon, researcher, and teacher, Dr. McLean demonstrates the importance of mentoring and being active in the community.
